June in the Wheat Fields

The contemporary table triumph as a form of contemplation of beauty and a hymn to the joy of living.

Celebrating abundance, the richness of the earth, the joy of the harvest, the feast of a lavishly laid table. The deseri, or centerpieces of Venetian origin, transform the moment of sharing around the table into an instant of ecstasy for the eyes and the palate.

The triumph of table art has a base of cut, engraved, and mirrored glass by the Barbini masters, upon which are placed blown and lamp-decorated floral elements. An ode to the harvest and the sunny days that ripen the ears of corn and cause the poppies and wildflowers to bloom.

The three-tiered centerpiece is dedicated to Ceres, the maternal deity of the earth and fertility, tutelary deity of harvests and goddess of birth: flowers, fruit and living beings were considered her gifts and it was thought that she had taught men how to cultivate the fields.

The elements of the composition form a glass painting and the mirrored base doubles the depth and brightness, playing with reflections that transport guests into the diaphanous light of a summer day.
