A Secret Garden
The dialogue between tradition and innovation yields a collection of 21 numbered botanically inspired glasses, referred to ancient Fratelli Toso drawings. Through the flame of the lamp, Simone Crestani brings to light an archival heritage, reinterpreting it in a contemporary way with transparent glass. A secret garden comes to life, recalling moments of country life, picking bouquets of flowers or exploring the blooming undergrowth of wild species. Between childhood memories and messages entrusted to flowers, with the dreams, hopes, and illusions that everyone guards in their own inner garden and to which they occasionally toast.
21 glasses for 21 botanical species that rotate on the stems of the glasses with the grace of flowers, the enchantment of nature, and the perfection that only the hands of a master can convey. The glass shines like crystal through the petals and leaves created by studying illustrations, fresh flowers and idealized in the artist’s imagination. Florilegio explores the history of artistic glass and its contemporary interpretation, the object of art as an end in itself and for use, the solidity and fragility of beauty. It is no more or less than a flower garden, one can choose to contemplate or experience it.
